Trex Headquarters

Winchester, Virginia

In collaboration with the Trex team and Hitt Contracting, MGMA created this stunning new 62,000 square foot headquarters in Winchester, Virginia, which recevied LEED Silver certification. Our primary focus during the design process was to ensure that the space accurately reflects Trex's dedication to sustainable and responsible manufacturing practices. The end result is a beautiful and functional workspace that truly embodies the company's values.

The design utilizes Trex products throughout and specifically the planks applied to the tilt up concrete panels, providing a rainscreen. Not only does the vertical installation give the façade a visual feature, it also creates an illusion of added height to this two-story building. The Trex planks and double height glazing frame the angular entrance, breaking the rhythm of the façade and creating an inviting entrance.

12,000 square feet of Trex material was utilized in the design. Trex, which is made up of 95% recycled consumer plastic, aids the project in achieving LEED Silver Certification.

The lobby, which bisects the building, offers a double-height space created by the circular aperture in the floor. The monumental stair's dynamic curves, are showcased by the skylight above. Segmented baffles and curved light fixtures  help to mitigate sound resulting in a stimulating yet peaceful environment.
